Institutional Committees

1. Curriculum Committee

The Curriculum Committee is established to oversee the development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of academic programs. The committee ensures that curriculum offerings are rigorous, coherent, aligned with institutional goals, and responsive to the needs of students, faculty, and the broader community.

NATURE OF ACTIVITIES:

Formulate objectives for the proper functioning of the committee.
Conduct meetings once in the month to evaluate the functioning of the committee.
Identify problems faced by the faculty and the students by conducting periodic faculty meetings and meeting with students.
Modify the existing teaching practices according to the problems identified.
Evaluate the effectiveness of the modified teaching methods.
Updating the knowledge of faculty by arranging frequent seminars and workshops.
Arranging lectures on topics of current importance by visiting specialists.
Conducting research activities for the students.

2. Evaluation Committee

The Evaluation Committee is responsible for ensuring the effective assessment and evaluation of programs, personnel, or institutional initiatives. The committee provides oversight, guidance, and recommendations to promote accountability, continuous improvement, and evidence-based decision-making.

FUNCTIONS:

Committee should meet at regular intervals to evaluate student progress.
Decides on promotion of students.
Assigns additional study periods to weak students.
Arrangement of prize giving and graduation functions.

3. Library Committee

The Library Committee serves as an advisory body that supports the effective operation, development, and strategic planning of the library. The committee advocates for resources, promotes equitable access to information, and ensures that the library’s services and collections align with the academic and informational needs of the community.

FUNCTIONS:

To maintain the proper functioning of the library.
To set up rules and regulations to be followed in the library.
To maintain discipline in the library.
To sanction and carry out proper utilization of library budget.
To purchase books and journals as requirement arises.
To maintain registers pertaining to the library.
To carry out audit at regular intervals.
To conduct meeting of the committee at regular intervals.
To give orientation to the new staff and students.
To make arrangements for the issue of new arrivals.

4. Research Committee

The Research Committee is established to promote, support, and oversee research activities within the institution. The committee ensures that research efforts are ethical, impactful, and aligned with institutional priorities, while fostering a culture of inquiry, innovation, and scholarly excellence.

FUNCTIONS:

Review and approve research proposals and projects, including ethical compliance (e.g., IRB coordination if applicable).
Support faculty, staff, and student research through policy guidance, resource identification, and mentorship.
Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and partnerships.
Advise on research funding opportunities, grant applications, and professional development.
Facilitate the dissemination and recognition of research outcomes (e.g., publications, presentations, conferences).
Ensure compliance with institutional, national, and international research standards.

5. Student Welfare & Grievance Committee

The Student Welfare & Grievance Committee is formed to safeguard the rights and well-being of students by promoting a supportive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. The committee addresses student concerns, resolves grievances in a timely and just manner, and recommends policies that enhance student life and holistic development.

FUNCTIONS:

Identifies the problems of the students.
Help the student to adjust to group living, to the educational programme, to the professional responsibilities.
Conducts individual conferences with the students at regular intervals.
Periodical evaluation of the student’s progress in relation to educational programme and any adjustment concerned to study methods behavior.
Guidance on students future career, study of her reactions to their clinical experience in hospital/community.
To provide adequate transportation to the students.

6. Staff Welfare & Development Committee

The Staff Welfare & Development Committee is established to promote the well-being, professional growth, and overall satisfaction of staff members. The committee supports initiatives that foster a positive work environment, encourage continuous learning, and ensure that staff are recognized, valued, and equipped to contribute effectively to the institution’s mission.

FUNCTIONS:

Identify and address staff welfare concerns including workplace conditions, mental health, safety, and job satisfaction.
Develop and recommend policies related to staff well-being and work-life balance.
Plan and support staff development programs such as workshops, training, and professional certifications.
Promote recognition and reward initiatives to motivate and retain staff.
Facilitate feedback mechanisms for staff to express concerns, suggestions, or development needs.
Collaborate with administration and HR to ensure equitable and inclusive workplace practices.

7. Anti-Ragging Committee

The Anti-Ragging Committee is established to prevent, monitor, and respond to incidents of ragging within the institution. It upholds the commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment, free from any form of harassment, intimidation, or abuse.

FUNCTIONS:

Implement and enforce anti-ragging policies in accordance with institutional, state, and national guidelines (e.g., UGC regulations in India).
Educate students and staff about the definition, consequences, and reporting mechanisms related to ragging.
Investigate reported cases of ragging with fairness, confidentiality, and urgency.
Recommend appropriate disciplinary actions based on investigation outcomes.
Organize awareness campaigns, orientation programs, and counseling sessions to prevent ragging.
Maintain a supportive grievance redressal system for victims and witnesses.

8. Recreation and Sports Committee

The Recreation and Sports Committee is established to promote physical wellness, team spirit, and a balanced lifestyle by organizing and overseeing recreational and athletic activities. The committee encourages active participation in sports and leisure programs, fostering holistic development and community engagement.

FUNCTIONS:

To plan recreational activities for the academic year.
To sanction and allocate budget for the same.
To provide facilities for recreation in the campus.
To carry out sports and cultural competitions as planned for the year.
To evaluate the recreational programme for the year and make necessary modifications.
To encourage participation of the students in extra curricular, activities and giving proper publicity.
To maintain register pertaining to extra curricular activities.
To conduct meetings at regular intervals.

9. Women’s Welfare Committee

The Women’s Welfare Committee is constituted to safeguard the rights, dignity, and well-being of women within the institution. The committee is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for women through awareness, support services, and policy advocacy.

FUNCTIONS:

Promote gender equality and empower women through education, training, and outreach programs.
Address issues related to discrimination, harassment, or inequality affecting women in the institution.
Develop and recommend policies related to safety, health, and the overall welfare of women.
Organize seminars, workshops, and campaigns on topics such as gender sensitization, self-defense, leadership, and health awareness.
Offer support and referral services for counseling, legal aid, or grievance redressal in cases of harassment or abuse.

10. Discipline Committee

The Discipline Committee is responsible for maintaining order, decorum, and discipline within the institution. It ensures adherence to institutional rules and regulations and addresses breaches through appropriate measures, fostering a safe and respectful learning environment.

FUNCTIONS:

Enforce institutional rules and code of conduct among students and staff.
Investigate complaints related to indiscipline or misconduct.
Recommend corrective actions or penalties as per institutional policies.
Promote awareness of disciplinary guidelines through orientation and workshops.
Maintain records of disciplinary cases and their resolutions.

11. Student Counseling Committee

The Student Counseling Committee is established to support the mental, emotional, and psychological well-being of students by providing guidance, counseling services, and resources. The committee aims to create a safe and supportive environment where students can seek help for personal, academic, and social challenges.

FUNCTIONS:

Develop and oversee counseling services, including one-on-one counseling, group therapy, and workshops.
Promote awareness of mental health issues and reduce the stigma around seeking help.
Identify and address student needs related to stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.
Provide a confidential and non-judgmental space for students to express their concerns and receive support.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other departments to identify students in need of support and offer appropriate interventions.
Coordinate with external mental health professionals or organizations as necessary.
Organize workshops, seminars, and programs on stress management, coping strategies, and mental health awareness.
Ensure that counseling services are accessible to all students, regardless of background or circumstances.
