CHILD HEALTH NURSING

The Child Health Nursing department in Alva’s College of Nursing concerned withart of caring for children is one of the most satisfying aspect of clinical nursing. Specifically,the department focuses on specialized training of the students in developing the concept of Children’s milestones and knowledge, skills required to respond to health care needs of infants,children, adolescents and their family in a variety of settings. The department provides student-centered teaching approach and learning in conducive atmosphere that helps the students to gain confidence in their nursing knowledge and skills.The department has qualified, experienced and committed faculty.The department involves in teaching, guiding the research projects and mentoring the undergraduate and postgraduate student.

Objectives

To recognize the difference between child and adult in care, approach and treatment
To provide specialized care for children with special consideration to growth, development and maturation
To analyze the importance of prevention of illness and the remedial measures towards the same
To develop research skills and conduct research in areas related to child health nursing.
